Edward (Ned) Hallowell, M.D. is a board-certified child and adult psychiatrist and world authority on ADHD. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Tulane Medical School and was a Harvard Medical School faculty member for 21 years. He is the Founder of The Hallowell ADHD Centers in Boston MetroWest, New York City, San Francisco, Palo Alto, and Seattle.

He has spent the past four decades helping thousands of adults and children live happy and productive lives through his strength-based approach to neurodiversity, and has ADHD and dyslexia himself.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are operating primarily via telehealth and cannot guarantee that any of our follow-up services will be available in person.

Evaluation Process for New Clients
For all new clients in California, we require a 90-minute initial evaluation with one of our licensed therapists so that we can better understand their individual needs. After that initial assessment, if a diagnosis has been made, the therapist and client will meet again for a 50-minute follow-up session. There, the therapist will deliver and explain the diagnosis and review a treatment plan. Treatment may include regular therapy or coaching sessions, ADHD medication management and/or any of our additional services.

Alternatively, we have a Psychiatrist, Dr. Michael Marcin, available for new client appointments.

A broad spectrum of services:

  • Diagnostic evaluation and consultation
  • Medication management
  • Neuropsychological testing
  • CBT and IPT psychotherapy
  • ADHD and life coaching
  • Parenting and career workshops
  • Cognitive skills training
  • Clinicians who speak Spanish, French and Farsi.
  • Acceptance of adult and child patients
  • Expertise in a wide variety of mood, anxiety and emotional problems, in addition to ADHD and learning differences.
