It’s What in the World You Can Do!
|
You might be thinking, “The little bit that I can do will never help much!” or “What in the world can I do?” If you’ve ever spent ten minutes talking to another parent in need, you know that even that small amount of compassion and care can make a world of difference. No one person can solve the world’s problems, but what little you do, CAN make an impact on the lives of one of our community’s most vulnerable populations – children with any special need and their families. There are a variety of opportunities for those who are interested in volunteering at Parents Helping Parents. Some activities are done at PHP and some can be done at home or in the community. Some assignments are long term and others are short term projects. The first step for a potential volunteer is to complete the PHP Volunteer Application. This will help us to determine an appropriate placement for you based on your interests and availability. Your email address can be added to our Volunteer email list so we can contact you when we have an immediate need for a volunteer(s). For more detailed information, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@php.com or call 408-727-5775 ext. 144. You may be surprised to find out that you’ll get more than you could ever expect from the experience of spending time helping others. Volunteering makes you feel needed, can lead to learning new skills, and can help you meet new people. Whether it’s a feeling of accomplishment or joy, there’s no doubt that volunteering will affect you in a big way. We look forward to working with you! |
