Come, meet, chat and connect with other parents who are sharing the experience of parenting a child who is deaf or hard of hearing.  PHP staff and Evette Ybarra, ASW, ASL therapist, from Family and Children Services will be on hand to answer questions and help identify resources. 

Robin Wu and Erica Flores (bilingual in Spanish) will join us this month to share information about a two-year study, funded by the National Institues of Health.  The study makes it possible to provide a free and non-invasive heart screening for some infants and children 5 years old and younger (birthdate 8/1/05 or later) who have severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss.  Some infants and children with such a hearing loss may have a serious heart problem.
