Integrated Playgroup

Play for All! An Integrated Play Group for Children of All Abilities

We hope you did not have too much trouble finding the Integrated Playgroup homepage on our new website. It is now listed under Services, rather than Support.

This playgroup for children 0 through 5 and their parents/caregivers meets on the first Saturday of the month. (NOTE:  There will be no playgroup in August due to our move to our new site in late July.  PHP will be closed July 21-31 and will re-open August 1.)  The playgroup meets from 10am to noon at PHP. This is a parent participation playgroup.

For the playgroup our Family Room and garden are transformed into a child-friendly, safe, and stimulating environment with a variety of developmentally-appropriate activities for the children and parents/caregivers to enjoy together. Snack is provided. As you participate with your child in the activities, you may have the opportunity to informally chat with nearby parents/caregivers. New families and caregivers are always welcome.

The playgroup is facilitated by professionals experienced in working with young children with special needs and their families. Please register to attend the next playgroup at the website Calendar listing or by calling Parents Helping Parents (408) 727-5775. If your child has any special abilities or needs, please help us to help your child have fun by providing information about anything you would like us to know. PHP provides a forum for parents and professionals to get information. PHP does not promote or recommend any treatment, therapy, institution or professional. Here's what you need to know:

  • Children of all abilities are welcome
  • Children should be 5 years of age or under
  • Parent/Caregiver participation is required
  • Wear loose fitting clothing
  • Wear older clothes for possible art activities
  • Come with a smile
  • Come & learn from the children

The San Jose Mercury News calls PHP's Integrated Playgroup a "trail-blazing program" - a program where your child has a chance to play and learn from children who have challenges different from their own in a safe, fun and stimulating setting. Bring your children (who are ages 5 and under) to our next integrated playgroup and see for yourself. See the Mercury News article in our News and Press section.
