As subdivision of the Community Services Department, the Recreation Division prides itself through a wide range of educational, creative and fun programs offered for our community. Our goal is to “Create Community through People, Parks and Programs” by offering diverse programs and facilities that help build a strong sense of community, promote cultural diversity, encourage health and wellness, and support assets for youth.
The City of Mountain View Recreation Division offers a wide variety of classes, camps, and programs to meet the needs of youth, teens, and their parents. Teen program includes tutoring
Since 1998, the City has provided a unique service to meet the needs of our growing and diverse community: the Multicultural Engagement Program (formerly the Multilingual Community Outreach Program or MCOP). This program, unique in the Bay Area, provides City and community information to residents in four languages – English, Spanish, Chinese, and Russian – regarding City programs and services. In an effort to reach residents, particularly individuals who might not have access to traditional communication methods, the City provides multiple services. These include attendance at City and community events, outreach to schools and non-profits, and City program translation and interpretation services.
Multilingual information is provided on City Services, Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) classes, City events, housing, as well as mediation services and other topics, both in person and by phone at (650) 903-6145.
