The presentation will explore the Americans with Disabilites Act (ADA), a key piece of legislation that protects the rights of people with disabilities. Learn about three main topics:
- The history and purpose of the ADA, its goal to prevent discrimination and ensure equal access.
- The main areas of the ADA: employment, public services, transportation, public accommodations, and telecommunications.
- The impact and barriers for people with disabilities, how the ADA can be used in their daily lives.
Please join Jan Garrett, Deputy Director of ADA Programs, ADA National Network. The ADA National Network provides information, guidanc, and training on how to implement the ADA in order to support the mission of the ADA to “assure equality of opportunity, full participation, independent living, and economic self-sufficiency for individuals with disabilities.”
