Join us at this webinar to learn how to understand and find information in your child’s Individualized Transition Plan (ITP), which is a part of a student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) mandates that the ITP be included in your child’s IEP once your child turns 16.
Planning should start before age 16 – best practices advise to start transition planning as early as middle school. We’ll go through the ITP form in the IEP, discuss what information should be included to build a robust ITP as well as advocacy tips for students and their parents to be effective members of the IEP Team.
In this webinar you will learn:
– The importance of transition assessments
– How post-secondary goals are connected to activities, community experiences, related services, and annual IEP goals
– What information should be included in the ITP.
