Is your loved one a regional center client? Do you want to hear about a program that may bring them more freedom of choice and independence before and after their transition to adulthood?

The Self-Determination Program (SDP) provides individuals and their families with more control and responsibility in choosing services and supports to help them meet their goals. The SDP is available to all eligible individuals receiving services from a regional center.

Please join Kristianna Moralls, Director of the Self-Determination Program Projects from Disability Voices United (DVU), as she:
– Explains what the SDP provides participants
– Introduces the 5 principles of self-determination: freedom, authority, support, responsibility, confirmation
– Discusses how to begin your SDP journey
– Describes the transition process from traditional services to the SDP

Disability Voices United is a statewide organization directed by and for individuals with
disabilities and their families, advocating for choice and control, equity and accountability, and meaningful outcomes. SDPConnect is on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month and is a 1.5 hours long information-sharing Zoom meeting for Self-Determination Program participants from everywhere in California, as well as family members, regional center staff, service providers and anyone else who is interested in moving the SDP forward!

If you need accommodations to participate in the training or assistance with registration, please contact us as soon as possible at [email protected]. We typically require 10 days to arrange accommodations to ensure your inclusion.

This is a Connections California event, a project of Parents Helping Parents – Silicon Valley. Connections California is sponsored in part by the San Andreas Regional Center and the California Department of Developmental Services.
