ACCESSING COLLEGE
Got a college-bound kid with a hidden disability?
Anxious about their transition to college?
Unsure about how to request accommodations?
Concerned about their success?
Do you want them to have every opportunity to achieve their goals?
I bet you do.
Unsure how to help them?
I can help
I’m a dad of a child with several learning disabilities. As an accessibility coordinator in college, I saw firsthand the difficulties that come with entering college with a learning disability: stigma, treatment disparities, fear, self-consciousness, a profound lack of self-awareness about their disabilities, and, because of all that, not asking for help or asking for help when it’s almost too late. That was not going to happen to my son.
As an expert in college accessibility, I know what it takes to succeed in college. For learning-disabled students, self-advocacy is at the core of that success. I developed a signature process to develop the self-advocacy skills needed for college success. With those skills, a student with a learning disability is unstoppable.
