Whether you’re wondering about viable job options for your youth with a disability or haven’t ever considered employment possibilities for your youth, this webinar is for you! Employment is often not considered a high priority for folks with disabilities by systems that serve them – though everybody can work, even if work may not look the same for everyone.

Please join Sean Roy, Chief Innovation and Training Officer of TransCen Inc., as he discusses:
– When and how to set expectations that work could be a part of your youth’s future
– How schools might support employment goals through the grades
– The importance of putting youth’s strength first when considering work experience
– Tools for initiating a strengths-based employment search
– Ways families/caregivers can play a role in the employment process
– Tips for navigating employment supports and vocational service providers
– The benefits of employment for youth and adults with disabilities

TransCen Inc. is an agency dedicated to the belief that employment and active community participation are attainable for all individuals, regardless of disability or other perceived barriers to employment. Prior to joining TransCen, Sean Roy worked at the PACER Center helping to direct transition projects and spearheading the creation of PACER’s National Parent Center on Transition and Employment.

Please join us to explore why employment may be important to your family – not only your youth. It’s never too early or too late to consider employment possibilities for our youth and adults with disabilities.

This webinar will provide live Spanish interpretation.

If you need accommodations to participate in the training or assistance with registration, please contact us as soon as possible at [email protected]. We typically require 10 days to arrange accommodations to ensure your inclusion.
