In this insightful session, Dr. Abbey Herringshaw, PhD will guide us through the intricacies of understanding and managing challenging behaviors in early childhood. Join this webinar to acquire essential tools and strategies to better understand and manage children’s challenging behaviors, ultimately creating a more supportive and effective environment for the children you serve and care for.

By the end of this webinar, providers and caregivers will:

  • Understand the reasons behind children’s challenging behaviors and how to reduce them,
  • Identify behavior patterns and functions to determine what the child seeks through specific behaviors,
  • Use this insight to develop plans that prevent and diminish negative behaviors, and promote appropriate replacement behaviors.

About the Presenter:
Dr. Herringshaw is a licensed clinical psychologist in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at Stanford Children’s Health and a Clinical Assistant Professor, Affiliated, at Stanford University. Dr. Herringshaw received her doctoral degree in medical/clinical psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed her predoctoral internship in the Autism specialty track at Indiana University and her postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Child Psychology, Autism Concentration, at Stanford University. Within the Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics program, Dr. Herringshaw provides short-term behavioral interventions for families addressing concerns such as disruptive behavior or social communication skills.
