Become a Volunteer Mentor Parent

PHP provides this workshop for parents interested in volunteering to support other parents with children that may have similar diagnoses/experiences/backgrounds. There is no commitment required for attending this informational workshop.

The program helps to match a Volunteer Mentor Parent to newer parents, of children 0 to 5 who are seeking support from a more experienced parent.

We will cover the following:

– PHP’s Volunteer Mentor Parent Program. How it works.
– The 1:1 support role. Best practices in providing peer support.
– Where to find resources and support for mentors.

As a volunteer, you set your times and availability! Your lived experience caring for a child with special needs can provide valuable support to another family in need.
