For Santa Clara County residents ONLY

Join us for an eight-week series from the comfort of your home. Meet and learn with a small group of parents led by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Topics covered include self-care, mindfulness, and parenting skills. This series will cover Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills that can be used by neurodivergent and neurotypical persons of all ages. Meetings will not be therapy but instead will focus on practical DBT skills for caregivers and their families instead. These skills can be incorporated into everyday life to help with healthy coping strategies, emotional regulation, and improving relationships with others.

Week Three: Mindfulness: This week is dedicated to skills that help us manage depression (worrying about past regret) and anxiety (catastrophizing about the future that we don’t know and can’t control) by becoming aware and maintaining a present focus (the one point in time that we can control, and we will miss if we are focusing on past resentments/regrets or future worries) These are skills that help us to prevent the onset of emotional distress in the face of a complex world.

This workshop is facilitated by Laura Beth DeHority, LMFT, PsyD.
Made possible by funding from El Camino Health and the County Of Santa Clara.
